What is a fire risk assessment?

A fire risk assessment consists of systematic inspection of a building and its occupants. The priority is to preserve life and prevent injury to occupants by reducing the risk of fire and complying with the “Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety Order) 2005.”

Do I need to have fire risk assessment?
All commercial premises in the UK are required to have had a fire risk assessment carried out, if there are five or more people working in your premises or if you have a licence under enactment you will need to have a written fire risk assessment. The assessment will need to be carried out by a competent person.
How do Firewiseuk carry out a fire risk assessment?
Our fire risk assessments are carried out using the PAS79 Methodology that is industrially recognised and is published by the British Standards Institution. A short chat will take place so that essential information relating to the building and the occupants can be recorded before the assessor carries out a physical inspection of the building itself.
Are you insured to carry out fire risk assessments in our building/s?
Yes we are fully insured to carry out fire risk assessments. It is a copy of our professional indencies and public liability insurance are available on request.
Can you work in schools and with vulnerable people?
Yes, we have worked with many schools, residential care homes, mental health establishments and supported living facilities and will always present an up to date DBS issued by the Disclosure and Barring Service prior to or on the day of the assessment.
How quickly can you do my fire risk assessment report?
Our average turnaround is five days but we will go the extra mile for people who need them done sooner.
